WHY BACK UP

Why Back Up Your Google Reviews?

Google removes reviews without telling the business. Spam filters, policy checks, profile merges and deleted Google accounts all take reviews with them, and Google gives you no history of what was there before.

When you ask Google Business Profile support about missing reviews, they want details: who wrote the review, when, and what it said. Without a backup, most owners can't answer. With one, you can point to the exact reviews and dates.

  • Proof for support. Reviewer name, date and review ID for every review.
  • Your own record. Use your reviews on your website or in sales material, even if Google drops some later.
  • Spot patterns. See how your rating and review flow changed over the years in one spreadsheet.

Want to know when reviews disappear, not only keep a copy? Pair this with our free Google Review Drop Alert, which emails you when your review count goes down.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Google Review Backup tool free?

Yes. Sign in, pick your business and download every review as many times as you like. No credit card and no account on our side.

What does the file contain?

Every review Google has for your Business Profile: reviewer name, star rating, review text, the date it was posted and last edited, your reply and its date, and Google's review ID. You can download it as a CSV (opens in Excel or Google Sheets) or as JSON.

Why do I have to sign in with Google?

Google only gives the full list of reviews, with dates and review IDs, to the owner or a manager of the Business Profile. Signing in proves you manage it. We ask for one permission (Google Business Profile) and use it only to read your reviews.

Do you store my reviews?

No. The reviews go from Google to your browser and the file is created on your computer. We don't save your reviews, your business details or your Google password. Access ends when you sign out, or by itself within an hour.

Can a backup bring deleted reviews back?

No tool can put a review back on Google. What a backup gives you is proof: the exact reviewer, date, text and review ID, which is what Google Business Profile support asks for when you report reviews that were removed by mistake.

How often should I back up my reviews?

Once a month is enough for most businesses. Do an extra one before big profile changes, such as a move, a name change or merging listings, because those are common times for reviews to disappear.

I manage several locations. Can I back them all up?

Yes. Every location your Google account manages shows up in the list. Back them up one at a time.
